Create Fantastic Copy for your web siteKeywords Remember ?keywords? from my last newsletter? Now is the time to use them. Imagine your customers ? how will they find you? What words will they search with? Take 5-10 minutes selecting your keywords then use them as the foundation for your web site content or copy. Make sure your keywords are right through your site, on every page if possible. Make it suck Your homepage must catch the attention of your visitors and suck them into the site. Use the homepage to make it absolutely clear what you do ? keep it short ? and provide interesting, relevant copy that will encourage your visitors to visit other pages in your site. Decide on some headings that tell your visitor exactly what your products or services can do for them. If you are a builder you might try ? ?Are you looking for a builder to take the pain out of renovations? Or ?Top quality renovations are our speciality?. Visitors notice the headings and often don?t read all the copy. What do you need? Most sites need an ?About Us?, ?Contact Us?, a ?Products? or ?Services? page and a ?Clients? or ?Portfolio? page. Some organisations find a frequently asked questions page or FAQ, saves them time when answering customer queries, so you might want to add one of those. The ? About Us ? page can be like a CV if you are a small company, for larger companies put in achievements and awards in addition to a short history. Put all your contact details in a page. Products or Services could be a long section which might need breaking up into smaller pages. You know how your business is structured but try and imagine how your customers will perceive you. What else ? Spell check it; read the copy, read the copy again, look at the grammar and check those keywords are in the copy. Make it serious but keep it light. Internet visitors don?t want to spend too long reading but they are particular and want real, valid information.
