Spiral team

You probably want to know a little bit about us before you consider working with us and while these are brief, we have nothing to hide, we just think what's important is you and what you need.

Audrey Shearer - Managing Director

AudreyAudrey is our web solutions specialist and while she would like to steer the ship, she mostly directs the rest of us to get on with it!

Audrey has been a software developer for more than 30 years and is driven by what you need and coming up with a solution that might combine hand coded software, a database, some third party plug-ins, a website and maybe a sprinkling of Twitter.

With so many years in the software development industry (sigh!) there are not many problems she hasn't encountered before which means you get some sharp solutions.

Audrey's interests are the internet, riding her motorbike around corners as fast as possible, anything creative and walking in the outdoors.

"I am very proud of the culture we are creating here at Spiral, we are driven by what our customers want and we still manage to work flexible hours, consider the environment in all we do and have people working remotely.  "

Cain Harland - Lead Developer

Cain As Spiral's programmer Cain builds databases and other made-to-order applications like our re-vamped e-newsletter. He writes server-side code (the stuff that happens on the server before a web page is sent to your screen) and client-side code (what happens once the client machine downloads it, like Java script).

In his web developer role, Cain creates website templates and works on the regular maintenance and updating of Spiral clients' websites.

Maxine Clark - Web Developer/Account Manager

Maxine Maxine has been noticed for her original design style. She combines this with the ability to translate clients' ideas into effective web sites.

Maxine is also one of our major client contact managers. She oversees ongoing projects and will often be the first point of contact for those with sites in development.

Her friendly disposition and individual flair means she is a hit with clients and a useful addition for Spiral's already diversely talented team.

Anne Wood - Quality Assurance/TradeMe Advisor

Anne Anne's role is the QA queen. She does the Quality Assurance checks on all our websites sites and keeps the Spiral team producing high quality work.

Her in-depth and practical knowledge of TradeMe has seen Anne grow this part of our business and she can manage TradeMe accounts on behalf clients. Something she does with charm and skill.

Fortunately Anne, who describes herself as "a bit of a jack of all trades at present" is a woman of many talents! Anne applies her skills to whatever slips past the rest of us and we are continually finding new talents she has.

Anne's also organises team events and what would be administrative nightmares to the rest of us she manages with alacrity.

Maureen Hines - Information Manager

Maureen HinesMaureen looks after Spiral's company information - particularly anything involving financial accounts.

A hands-on person with a technical background in computing she combines her logical approach with practical MYOB skills.

Maureen processes all our domain registrations and helps kick-start new projects.

Suzy Costello - Project Manager - Maintenance

Suzy is thoroughly enjoying stepping back into the workforce after years of tending to her family. As well as organisational skills honed in child rearing, she also comes with 11 years IT experience in business analysis (especially in cars, policing and justice!) and project managing.

Suzy is responsible for managing updates and changes to existing websites. This means juggling two of of our biggest accounts along with a mixed bunch (a posy?) of smaller accounts.

Myst - Company Mascot, Watch Dog and Director of Serendipity

MystMyst spends several days a week in the office keeping everyone company and staying on the lookout for any rogue food fragments. A small, quiet dog for most of the time she occasionally feels the need to warn us all of an "intruder" entering the office.

Where are we now?
