Get Found on Google & Get More Customers
When customers are searching for your product or service
you want to be in their face!
You get more customers by making your webpages
relevant to your customers search queries. Ask yourself - "What do
my customers search on when they want my products and services?"
Relevance
Relevance is all about getting your website listing to display
when someone searches for your product or service.
There is fierce competition for some products so we,
small business owners, need to be creative and smart if we
want a high listing. These two steps will help.
- What really are your keywords and phrases?
What will your customers type into the Google search box to find
you?
Narrow this down and be VERY targeted. For example if you are
selling Maori Kites then your key phrases might be
- "maori kites for sale"
- "buy maori kites"
- "ethnic kites"
"Kites" on its own will be nearly useless because you will be
competing for a listing on Google with every other kite selling
website in the world. You might also choose to target people in
your country, region or city.Do some research, ask people
what they would type in to find your business.
- Make your content relevant
Update the content, the text, on your homepage or product page
to reflect your keywords. In the example above our content might
now need to read like this:
"Ethnic Maori Kites
Ethnic Maori Kites, Manu or Manu pakau, are available to
purchase here on our website. The art of kite flying has played
an important part in Maori lifestyles . . . ."
Two simple things to do
- use your keywords/phrase in the main heading for your page
- include your keywords/phrase in the first paragraph and then
throughout the rest of the page.
Remember that people will be reading the page too, so make it readable
and sensible for people too!
Change the content yourself or contact
